Tyler King is an associate director in the firm’s New York office, where he specializes in both landlord and tenant representation in the New York metropolitan area. Tyler joined Newmark Knight Frank in 2019, when parent company Newmark Group, Inc. acquired RKF. He began his career with RKF in 2017.
Tyler has had success advising publicly traded REITs such as Acadia Realty Trust, Seritage Growth Properties and SL Green Realty. His roster of landlord clients also includes Buckingham Properties, Premier Equities, The Winter Organization and Wharton Properties. Tyler currently represents Acadia at City Point, its 600,000-square-foot premier Brooklyn asset, where he negotiated CAMP’s 12,000-square-foot flagship and Casper’s first Brooklyn location. He also advises Seritage on the repositioning of its 200,000-square-foot retail property, Esplande at Aventura in Miami.
Recently, Tyler negotiated Fjallraven’s retail lease at 406 West 14th Street in the Meatpacking District on behalf of the Winter Organization. He secured the first U.S. flagship for Amsterdam-based fashion brand Daily Paper at 18 Delancey Street in the Lower East Side and Cha Cha Matcha’s fourth Manhattan location at 501 Fifth Avenue. He also represented SL Green and Wharton Properties in the 70,000-square-foot relocation of Tiffany & Co.’s New York flagship to 6 East 57th Street.
Prior to joining RKF, Tyler was an associate at Cushman & Wakefield, where he focused on retail leasing. His accomplishments there included the arrangement of a 49-year master lease of the retail space at the Carlyle House on Madison Avenue, which included luxury tenants Perrin Paris, Stubbs & Wootton, Vera Wang and Yves Delorme. On behalf of landlords, Tyler also arranged numerous leases at 1100 Madison Avenue to Sugarfina, 1091 Madison Avenue to Ovando and 239 East 60th Street to MNDFL. He also negotiated a renewal at 19 East 66th Street for Blum & Poe and leased 7,700 square feet at 77 Fulton Street to Keste Pizza on behalf of South Bridge Towers. Some of his other notable landlord clients are Ashkenazy Acquisition Corporation, The Claremont Group, Elk Investors, Greystone and Related Companies.
Tyler began his real estate career at Massey Knakal. He was previously at Ralph Lauren, where he worked with the sales team and corporate office to improve the overall merchandising strategy and store operations at the men’s flagship on Madison Avenue.
Tyler is a volunteer with Harlem Lacrosse, a school-based non-profit organization that provides academic intervention, leadership training and lacrosse to at-risk students. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics and Spanish from Denison University. Tyler is a licensed real estate salesperson in the state of New York and a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC).
