Timothy E. Baltakis, MAI, serves as a first vice president in the Denver office of Newmark Valuation & Advisory. Mr. Baltakis has 36 years of experience appraising a wide range of income-producing properties, including apartments, shopping centers, office buildings, industrial and warehouse facilities, hotels and senior citizen housing. Over the last 20 years, Mr. Baltakis has specialized in appraisals and market studies for HUD financing for both market rate and affordable (LIHTC and Section 8) multihousing and in market studies for LIHTCs available through the Colorado Housing and Finance Authority.
Mr. Baltakis has also prepared fee appraisals for individuals, corporations, financial institutions, pension funds and other real estate-oriented investors as well as appraisal reports and market and feasibility studies for properties throughout the United States. Additionally, he has testified as an expert witness in the states of Colorado and Utah.
Mr. Baltakis joined Newmark in 2018 when the firm acquired the Denver office of Integra Realty Resources. At the time of the acquisition, Mr. Baltakis was serving as a senior director. Prior to IRR, Mr. Baltakis worked for nearly six years at Joseph J. Blake and Associates, Inc., where he prepared and participated in real estate appraisals and market and feasibility studies. He also served as manager of the Rocky Mountain regional office, a position that put particular emphasis on appraisal review and education of staff personnel.

Mr. Baltakis earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from the University of Florida, where he majored in real estate and minored in finance. More recently, Mr. Baltakis successfully completed numerous real estate related courses and seminars sponsored by the Appraisal Institute, the American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers, accredited universities and others. He is currently certified by the Appraisal Institute’s voluntary program of continuing education for its designated members.
