Tom Sherick MAI, joined Newmark Valuation & Advisory in 2018 and currently serves as a Senior Vice President in the company’s Southwest Ohio office. With over 25 years of real estate valuation experience, Sherick has worked with numerous clients on a variety of property types, including: office, industrial, retail, medical, and land development. He has also provided valuation analyses on Tax Increment Financing (TIF) arrangements and a variety of tax abatements. Sherick also has significant experience in litigation assignments including the preparation of appraisals and providing expert witness testimony for property tax appeals and condemnation proceedings.
Sherick joined Newmark after serving as a Senior Vice President with Gem Real Estate Group. In this capacity, he assisted in starting Gem’s Cincinnati operation in 1999. After completing the Appraisal Institute’s MAI designation in 2008, Sherick oversaw the day-to-day operations of the Cincinnati office. In 2013, that role expanded to include Gem’s entire valuation group.
With Newmark, Sherick’s responsibilities are focused on the preparation and review of appraisal reports on a diverse spectrum of property types. He also serves as the Co-Team Leader for the Southwest Ohio area.

Education
Sherick earned his Bachelor of Business Administration with a focus in Finance & Real Estate from the University of Cincinnati. More recently, he has completed the requirements of the Appraisal Institute’s continuing education program.
