Robert Ury serves as a senior managing director with Newmark in Los Angeles. He specializes in tenant and landlord representation and works with a variety of restaurants and retailers.
Robert has worked with a number of notable tenants, including Adidas, Asics, Blaze Fast Fired’d Pizza, Buffalo Wild Wings, CorePower Yoga, Five Guys Burgers and Fries, Flywheel Sports, J. Jill, Kriser’s Natural Pet, L’Occitane en Provence, La Colombe Coffee Roasters, Mendocino Farms Sandwich Market, Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams, Nothing Bundt Cakes, Oakley, OneWest Bank, Pei Wei Asian Diner, Sephora, Sweetgreen, Uniqlo and Veggie Grill.
Robert’s landlord clients have included ASB Real Estate Investments, CIM Group, Federal Realty Investment Trust, Rockwood Capital, Simms Commercial Development, Topa Management Company and West Coast Investors, along with several individual landlords and family trusts.
Robert has arranged more than 250 lease transactions in Southern California since the start of his real estate career. Among the most significant were the negotiation of Uniqlo’s 15,460-square-foot lease at The Bloc in DTLA, Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams’ 11,400-square-foot Beverly Hills Flagship store on North Beverly Drive; Adidas’ 6,681-square-foot flagship store on Third Street Promenade; the 5,901-square-foot Adidas Originals store on iconic Abbot Kinney Boulevard; Oakley’s 3,000- square-foot Santa Monica flagship store on Third Street Promenade; ULTA’s 11,746-square-foot lease in Rancho Santa Margarita on behalf of Fortus Property Group; and Urban Outfitters Surplus’ 8,700-square-foot lease in Sherman Oaks on behalf of West Coast Investors.
Currently, Robert is involved in the Southern California expansion of leading fast casual concept Mendocino Farms Sandwich Market from Los Angeles to San Diego. He is also representing Sweetgreen as the hip East Coast brand extends its roots in Southern California and has helped arrange 12 leases in Los Angeles County to date. Robert is also representing prolific Japanese retailer Uniqlo across Southern California, focusing on street and power/lifestyle locations. Other active requirements include Sephora in Los Angeles and Orange County, and CorePower Yoga and Pinstripes throughout Southern California.
Robert joined Newmark in 2019, when corporate parent Newmark Group, Inc., acquired RKF, a New York-based retail real estate brokerage. He joined RKF’s Los Angeles office in 2011. Prior to RKF, Robert was an associate with California Commercial Partners, Inc. in Newport Beach, where he arranged more than 50 leases with an aggregate value in excess of $18 million.
As a lifetime Southern California resident, Robert’s market knowledge is vast and nuanced. He takes pride in seeing situations through the eyes of his clients and finding solutions to challenging problems. He enjoys advocating for his clients’ needs and uncovering the perfect location or ideal tenant that others may have missed.

Robert earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration with a concentration in real estate finance at the University of Southern California.
