Raj Whadwa serves as a senior director with Newmark Knight Frank in New York City, where he concentrates on both landlord and tenant representation. A 17-year veteran of the real estate industry, his expertise is the Long Island retail market.
Raj works exclusively with numerous retailers, including Auntie Anne’s, Burger Village, Checkers, Cinnabon, Curry Up Now, Five Guys Burgers and Fries, Gong Cha, Haagen-Dazs, MetroPCS, Phone Fix NYC and Verizon Wireless.
Raj also works with some overseas clients, including Doner and Gyro’s from Dubai, and Good Karma from Canada.
On behalf of 2cute, Raj has secured more than 50 retail locations. He has also assisted Verizon Wireless in securing 25 store locations throughout New York.
Raj joined NKF in 2019, when parent company Newmark Group, Inc. acquired RKF, a New York-based retail real estate brokerage and investment firm.
Prior to RKF, Raj was the head of real estate for a Long Island-based apparel company that conducted business throughout the tri-state area. In this role, he was responsible for negotiating terms and securing and opening sites, mostly in the Long Island area.
