Mr. Rodriguez brings to his position more than 16 years of commercial real estate experience, with a focus on strategic real estate acquisitions and dispositions, leasing transactions, project development and build-to-suit construction throughout Mexico. Over the past 11 years, Mr. Rodriguez has completed over 15 million square feet of real estate transactions, representing over $1 billion in transaction volume. He has ranked as a Top Five Producer in Northwest Mexico since 2013.
Prior to Newmark, Mr. Rodriguez served as president and CEO of Alpha Mexico Commercial Real Estate Services. This position, which lasted from 2013 to 2017, was preceded by several positions with NAI Mexico, including sales associate from 2011 to 2013 and project manager from 2006 to 2011, both in the Tijuana office. This followed three years as a partner with Agave Genuino S de RL de CV, a tequila company. Mr. Rodriguez began at NAI Mexico in 2001, as a sales associate in the Guadalajara office.
Mr. Rodriguez’s clients have included some of the most prominent companies, domestic and foreign, operating in Mexico. These include Motorcar Parts of America (MPA), which he represented in the successful negotiation a 15-year build-to-suit lease; Foxconn, in Tijuana’s largest industrial lease renewal, totaling more than 1 million square feet; and VESTA, in a development deal for a 30-plus-acre industrial park in El Florido, which has since grown to more than 550,000 square feet.
Education
Mr. Rodriguez earned a postgraduate diploma in multicultural business management, also an international human resource management diploma together with a cross-cultural management course at Fachhochschule Schmalkalden in Germany. He previously earned his bachelor degree in international business and economics from IPADE in Guadalajara, Mexico.
