Nemo Hannafin is an executive managing director with Newmark Knight Frank’s Multifamily Capital Markets Debt & Structured Finance group in the Bethesda office. Mr. Hannafin brings to his position more than 20 years of experience in real estate finance. He is responsible for debt originations utilizing FHA-insured and GSE programs throughout the U.S. Since joining the firm, he has worked closely with owners and developers on a variety of assignments, property types and funding sources. Mr. Hannafin has been active in both new construction and the refinance/acquisition of affordable and market-rate housing transactions. Transactions closed have included large market-rate new construction developments, portfolio executions, conventional apartments, Section 8 preservation properties, LIHTC and tax-exempt bond financed deals, Section 202 refinancings and Section 236 decoupling deals. Prior to joining Newmark Knight Frank’s predecessor firm, Mr. Hannafin worked in the development and management of affordable housing.
Mr. Hannafin is a member of various industry groups, including the Housing Association of Non-Profit Developers (HAND) and the Institute of Responsible Housing Preservation (IRHP).
Mr. Hannafin holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Connecticut College.
