Murray Wachtel is an executive managing director at Newmark Knight Frank’s Sacramento office and specializes in representing public and private institutions in the leasing, purchasing and sales of office properties in the greater Sacramento region.
Mr. Wachtel has distinguished himself as one of the premier commercial real estate brokers in the Sacramento area over the past 30 years. Since 1992, he has received the Top Producer award for achievement 22 times. In addition, Mr. Wachtel has been honored by his multiple selections as a nominee for Broker of the Year for the greater Sacramento area and became a partner in the Sacramento/Roseville offices in 2007.
Mr. Wachtel has completed some of the area’s most significant transactions representing a total of over 22 million square feet and more than 1,500 transactions. His clients include the state of California, Fortune 100 companies and some of the area’s most prestigious companies looking to expand, relocate or complete build-to-suit corporate headquarters.
Among Mr. Wachtel’s long-term clients are the state of California, Cybosoft, Innovest, Legal Services of Northern California and some of the area’s most distinguished developers.
Prior to joining Newmark Knight Frank in 1989, Mr. Wachtel was director of corporate planning for a Fortune 100 company responsible for long-range strategic planning, business development, mergers and acquisitions. His professional approach combines both his real estate and business experiences, allowing him to negotiate, in the most professional manner, the most favorable terms for his clients, enabling them to accomplish their business and financial objectives.
Mr. Wachtel is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, where he received degrees in business and economics and was a varsity member of the track and field team. He is currently an official and karate instructor at the Ken Sei Kan School of Okinawan Karate and Kobudo, where he holds a rank of 8th Degree Black Belt, as well as a teaching certification which he was awarded in Okinawa, Japan.
