As an executive managing director of Newmark in the Tampa office, Matt Williams is responsible for the origination of debt and equity placements in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions. Mr. Williams joined the company in May 2014, bringing with him more than 13 years of commercial real estate experience covering a full spectrum of financial structures, including joint venture equity, mezzanine, construction and permanent financing.
Mr. Williams joined the company after serving as a vice president at CBRE, where he assisted in the underwriting and placement of more than $14 billion in financing transactions covering all assets classes and components of the capital stack. Mr. Williams was also responsible for overseeing the financial analysis, underwriting and due diligence process.
Prior to joining CBRE, Mr. Williams provided due diligence, analysis and research of medical office properties and assisted living facilities for a medical office REIT, and served as a commercial real estate acquisitions analyst at Legg Mason US Real Estate Advisors.
Mr. Williams received a Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in finance from the College of William and Mary. He also received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Eckerd College.
