Matthew Swanson, MRICS currently serves as an Executive Vice President in Newmark Valuation & Advisory’s Irvine, California office. Swanson is the Southern California industrial practice team leader and office team co-leader. Additionally, Swanson oversees Newmark’s Orange County commercial practice. His role focuses on expanding Newmark’s presence throughout the greater Southern California region.
Swanson completes valuation assignments for investment grade property types. His work focuses on institutional office, industrial, R&D, cold storage, studios, and complex property types throughout Southern California. Assignments are used for financing, litigation, portfolio management and financial planning. He has worked on numerous REIT portfolios for acquisition and financing purposes.
Earlier in his career, Swanson was a Senior Acquisitions Analyst with CBRE Investment Management, Strategic Partners. He pursued opportunistic acquisitions that focused on purchasing, repositioning, and selling trophy grade institutional real estate in target CBD markets. Swanson participated in underwriting several billion in potential acquisitions across various product types and strategies in the U.S.
