Matt Swanson joined Newmark Valuation & Advisory as a first vice president in 2018, when the firm acquired Integra Realty Resources Metro Los Angeles. As the industrial practice leader for Southern California and Hawaii, Mr. Swanson focuses on expanding the practice throughout the region. Additionally, he is also a member of the financial reporting practice.
Mr. Swanson completes valuations for investment-grade property types, with a focus on industrial, R&D, cold storage and office property types in Southern California. His valuation work is used for financing, litigation, portfolio management and financial planning purposes. He has worked on numerous REIT portfolios for acquisition and financing purposes.
Prior to Newmark, Mr. Swanson worked for three years at IRR-Metro LA, most recently as a director. He was previously the Southern California office practice leader responsible for completing valuations of institutional and complex assets.
Previously, Mr. Swanson was an acquisition analyst in the Downtown Los Angeles office of CBRE Global Investors Strategic Partners. In this position, he pursued opportunistic investment strategies in the United States that focused on purchasing, repositioning and selling institutional real estate in select markets.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Swanson was a valuation associate with CBRE. As a part of that firm’s institutional team, he provided local expertise on a national level for investment banks, private equity groups, private wealth management groups, large cap banks, law firms and asset management groups.
