Kendall A. Beckman, MAI, MRICS, joined Newmark’s Valuation & Advisory in 2017 as a senior vice president in the Houston office. Mr. Beckman brings to his position 34 years of experience preparing and reviewing real estate appraisals, feasibility studies, rent analyses and market studies of residential and commercial properties.
Mr. Beckman specializes in the valuation of retail properties. He has appraised more than 275 net leased single-tenant retail properties, including drug stores, supermarkets and big box discount stores. He has also appraised a wide variety of retail centers, including “town center” developments, lifestyle centers, neighborhood and community centers, and regional malls.
In addition to retail, Mr. Beckman has appraised a wide variety of property types including offices, industrial facilities, residences (multi-family and single family), hotels, medical offices, restaurants, hospitals, business parks, branch banks and special purpose. Mr. Beckman has appraised properties in nearly 30 states, but has worked primarily in Kansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Texas.
Mr. Beckman began his tenure at Newmark after 31 years in CBRE’s Houston office, where he most recently served as a vice president in the South Central Region. In this role, he led the Houston Retail Valuation Team and was a member of the Net Lease Investment Group for Valuation & Advisory Services.
Prior to CBRE, Mr. Beckman began his professional career as a real estate appraiser and consultant at Robert B. Jones & Company, located in Houston. He served as a staff appraiser there for three years.
