Justin Smith is a senior managing director with Newmark Knight Frank in the Boston office, where he specializes in the marketing and disposition of retail assets throughout the northeast. He’s been directly involved with the sale of nearly $3.2 Billion in retail assets and was part of the team recognized as one of the Top Investment Sales Groups in the country by Real Estate Forum 2016.
Mr. Smith started his ten-year career in real estate within the Corporate Real Estate team at Liberty Mutual, where he was on a team that oversaw the organization’s 30 owned assets and nearly 10 million square feet of leased space throughout the United States. In 2010, he joined the brokerage community on the debt and equity team responsible for large-scale commercial projects throughout Metro Boston. Prior to this experience, he coached basketball at Middlebury College and football at the University of Colorado and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
An active industry leader, Mr. Smith is a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), Real Estate Finance Association (REFA) and NAIOP. He also serves on the advisory board of The Real Estate Council of Boston College and the Friends of Colby Football board.
Mr. Smith earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Boston College’s Wallace E. Carroll Graduate School of Management and a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Colby College. He resides in Brookline, Massachusetts, with his wife Colette who is a middle school administrator at Noble and Greenough School.
