Josh Prettyman joined Newmark Knight Frank at the tail end of 2018 and currently serves as a managing director of hospitality capital markets in the company’s Salt Lake City office. A four-year corporate real estate professional, Mr. Prettyman has substantial expertise in commercial real estate, including agency representation in hospitality and multi-family products.
A licensed real estate salesperson in both Utah and Idaho, Mr. Prettyman excels at maximizing returns for his clients, both on the acquisition and disposition side of transactions. His large and ever-expanding clientele allows him to outperform his competition and service a greater number of clients throughout the United States every year. In 2018, Mr. Prettyman was invited to attend Newmark Knight Frank’s exclusive Rising Stars event, and he has maintained his trajectory toward becoming a top performer among NKF’s more than 16,000 employees.
Mr. Prettyman joined Newmark knight Frank after completing three years as an associate with Marcus & Millichap in Salt Lake City. He worked with clients and hotel properties that ranged from economy to upscale tier and were spread across a number of franchise groups, including Best Western, Carlson Rezidor, Choice, G6, Hilton, IHG, La Quinta, Marriott and Wyndham. Mr. Prettyman received Marcus & Millichap’s Rookie of the Year award in 2017 and Pacesetter award in 2016.

Mr. Prettyman earned a bachelor’s degree in construction, facility and property management from Brigham Young University. Both during and after his time at the university, he worked with large multi-family investment groups, where he was able to develop the extensive underwriting skills necessary to highlight and/or identify the strengths and weaknesses of commercial investment properties.
