Jonny Yuran joined Newmark Knight Frank in 2018 and serves as an associate with the firm’s newly formed Private Client Group. Based in NKF’s Manhattan headquarters, Jonny canvases leads in the boroughs of Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx. He then educates owners on current and possible future market conditions and advises them on whether to sell or hold onto their properties. He also helps owners to sell their properties to potential buyers, focusing on middle market deals ranging from $5 million to $250 million.
Most recently, Jonny sold 96 Sterling Place, an 18,020-square-foot apartment building in Park Slope, Brooklyn, to Peak Capital and Rudd Realty for $10.4 million. The property has 25 units and a cellular tower and is 88% free-market.
In another recent deal, Jonny sold 1064-1066 Jackson Avenue, a development site in Long Island City with 25,235 buildable square feet, to BK Developers for $8 million. The property came with MTA approval and approved plans to build a seven-story condominium project with ground-floor retail space.
Jonny also structured a joint venture between Starwood Capital and AB Capstone to build 425 Westchester Avenue, a ground-up Class A office building in the South Bronx. Starwood Capital placed $26.5 million of equity into the deal, making 425 Westchester Starwood’s first investment in an opportunity zone in the country.
Prior to Newmark Knight Frank, Jonny was an associate director in investment sales at the now-shuttered Eastern Consolidated. One of the leading investment sales firms in the New York City area, Eastern Consolidated closed in July 2018.
Active in his community, Jonny is a member of the Friendship Circle, a charity supporting children and young people with special needs, and the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting research in Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.
Jonny earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Syracuse University, where he was a Dean’s List student, majoring in film and minoring in marketing.
