John P. Sozansky, MAI, joined Newmark Knight Frank Valuation & Advisory in 2018, when the firm acquired the Pittsburgh office of Integra Realty Resources. Mr. Sozansky brings to his position 34 years of valuation and advisory experience.
Mr. Sozansky has performed valuations and market studies on a wide variety of property types, including industrial, hospitality, office, high-value residential, vacant land, aviation-related and self-storage. He specializes in valuations of large industrial properties, including integrated steel mills, and of hospitality properties, including many nationally known hotels and lodging facilities located in western Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
Mr. Sozansky has performed valuations for financing and litigation support with a focus on assessment appeals and in support of acquisitions and dispositions. His clients have included banks and financial institutions, law firms, developers and investors, corporations and government agencies.
In addition to appraisals, Mr. Sozansky has provided expert testimony for ad valorem assessment appeals in the Courts of Common Pleas and the Board of Assessment Appeals in numerous counties in Pennsylvania.

Mr. Sozansky earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Pittsburgh. More recently, he has successfully completed numerous real estate and valuation courses and seminars sponsored by the Appraisal Institute, American Society of Appraisers, Smith Travel Research and others.
