John Gustafson is a part of Newmark’s Western Region institutional investment sales platform with regional leader Mr. John Jugl, Jr. Vice Chairman, Newmark Capital Markets. With over 20 years in real estate, John has worked all major asset classes with a focus on office, life sciences and healthcare. John’s long-term approach to business prioritizes the success of his clients. His ambition, competitiveness, task management and goal setting fuel his growth both personally and professionally.
John has collaborated with numerous local and national Newmark brokers providing tactical approaches and solutions. Over his career, he has brokered $250 million in sales plus 2.5 million square feet of leases. His clients have included REITs, developers, institutional investors, private capital, quasi-public ventures, office/life sciences corporations, and healthcare providers. John’s sale experience includes investments, value-add properties, owner-occupant facilities, and sale-leasebacks. His leasing transactions comprises of tenant representation, built-to-suits, developments, and portfolios.Prior to joining Newmark in 2012, John was a founding member of the Grubb & Ellis Healthcare Practice Group. Since 1996, his resume includes appraisal, development, entrepreneurship, and brokerage at First Commercial Appraisal, CBRE, Grubb & Ellis, Aardex and his own firm, Eco Real Estate Company. In 1994, John was recruited by Coach Bill McCartney to play football at the University of Colorado and was a multi-year letterman and graduated with a major in finance and real estate.
