Jimena Sayavedra joined Newmark’s Chicago industrial group as an associate in 2019. Jimena works with Elise Couston, SIOR advising clients on acquisitions, dispositions, leases, build-to-suits, and investment properties.
Prior to joining Newmark, Jimena served as an associate advisor with Paine/Wetzel and Associates in the sale and leasing of industrial properties. During her previous career as an urban planner, Jimena worked as a project manager for Stanhope Consulting, a boutique firm specializing in providing public engagement and community outreach services. Jimena also held various consulting roles in Chicago and in External Relations at CMAP (Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning), where she gained extensive experience in regional planning, GIS, demographic and market analysis.

Education
Jimena earned a Master’s degree in Urban Planning and Policy with a specialization in Economic Development from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Buenos Aires in Argentina. Jimena is a licensed real estate broker in the state of Illinois.
Jimena is fully bilingual in English and Spanish. She is an avid runner completing 25 marathons including the Chicago, Boston and New York marathons. Jimena is director and past president of the Argentina Chicago Foundation, a not-for-profit organization that raises funds to build and renovate schools in impoverished rural areas of Argentina.
