Ionut “John” Gavrilescu, MAI, joined Newmark Knight Frank Valuation & Advisory in 2020 as a vice president in the Columbus, Ohio, office. John focuses on the preparation of appraisal reports on a wide variety of property types while providing exceptional service to clients. Since beginning his real estate career 15 years ago, John has prepared valuations across a broad range of property types that includes warehouses, flex buildings, manufacturing facilities, truck terminals, self-storage facilities, auto dealerships, general and medical office, shopping centers, big box retail stores, fast food and casual dining restaurants, student housing, multifamily apartments, convenience stores, car washes, nursing homes, churches, schools, road right-of-way projects, other special use assets and vacant land.
John began at Newmark Knight Frank after serving as a senior appraiser for Principle Real Estate Group, where he performed appraisal services for lending institutions, private and governmental clients throughout the Columbus metropolitan area and the state of Ohio. John has experience with regression analysis, feasibility studies, subdivision development analysis, rent studies, going concern and eminent domain valuations.

John earned his Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Urbana University, where he majored in marketing and management information systems. More recently, he has completed numerous real estate appraisal, finance and brokerage courses.
