Senior Managing Director Gavin J. McPhie, MAI, MRICS, is the market leader for Newmark Knight Frank’s Valuation & Advisory practice in the firm’s U.S. Southwest region. In this capacity, Mr. McPhie is responsible for growing the valuation and advisory businesses of the Phoenix, Las Vegas, Reno and Albuquerque offices through the recruitment and management of best-in-class valuation professionals.
Mr. McPhie brings to his position 18 years of valuation and advisory experience. His appraisal experience includes the fee preparation of real estate appraisals, rent analyses and market studies of commercial and multifamily properties. He has completed valuation assignments of several commercial property types, including land, office, office condominiums, retail, industrial, call centers, data centers, private schools, charter schools, places of worship, restaurants, hotels, resorts and multifamily properties. Notably, Mr. McPhie’s experience encompasses a wide variety of hotels and resorts (limited service and full service hotels, convention hotels, luxury resorts, extended stay, all-suite hotels and fractional interest ownerships) and multifamily (existing and proposed projects, student housing, senior housing and low-income housing). He has completed assignments in Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico and Utah, as well as international assignments in Grenada and Mexico.
Mr. McPhie joined Newmark Knight Frank in 2017, following 12 years with CBRE’s Valuation & Advisory Services Group. Most recently, Mr. McPhie was a managing director with Valuation & Advisory Services, responsible for co-managing offices in Phoenix, Tucson, Las Vegas, Reno and Albuquerque. He had advanced to the position of managing director after two years as a vice president with Valuation & Advisory, preceded by three years as a senior appraiser. Mr. McPhie began his career as an appraiser in 2001 at PGP Valuation, Inc. (Now Colliers International) in Sacramento, California.

Mr. McPhie earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Brigham Young University. He has also completed course work from the Appraisal Institute.
