David Tevlin is a senior managing director in the New York office of Newmark’s Global Corporate Services division. A proven senior member of the division’s U.S. operation and an integral addition to a dynamic team of top producers, Mr. Tevlin works alongside and reports directly to Global Corporate Services Chairman Michael Ippolito.
Mr. Tevlin joined Newmark in early 2014, after spending more than 18 years as managing director of BDO USA LLP’s Corporate Real Estate Services Group. In that capacity, Mr. Tevlin exclusively led and generated sales in excess of $85 million of real estate-related consulting services, which in turn saved clients more than $350 million, and became the key driver in the development of BDO Seidman LLP (now BDO USA LLP), one of the industry’s premier lease audit practices. Mr. Tevlin enjoys long-standing, key executive-level client relationships with more than 150 Fortune 500 corporations, including dozens of major investment banks, insurers and other companies in the financial sector, and with 120 of The American Lawyer magazine’s top 200 U.S. law firms.
Before his tenure at BDO, Mr. Tevlin was already a seasoned corporate real estate professional. He had worked for five years at Julien J. Studley in Northern Virginia, where he was promoted to associate director, and then two years for Joseph Hilton Associates in New York City as an assistant director. Mr. Tevlin was responsible for over 1.0 million square feet of completed lease transactions on behalf of both tenants and landlords.
An active member of the commercial real estate community, Mr. Tevlin has belonged to CoreNet Global, one of the world’s leading associations for CRE professionals, for 20 years.
Mr. Tevlin graduated from New York University with a Master of Science Degree in real estate investment and finance. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in real estate and urban development from American University.
