David S. Gray, MAI, MRICS, joined Newmark Knight Frank Valuation & Advisory in 2018 as an executive vice president in the Boca Raton office. Mr. Gray is a member of the Hospitality, Gaming & Leisure practice, which focuses exclusively on providing valuation and consulting services for a broad range of hotels, casinos and leisure properties. He brings to his position 34 years of experience appraising all forms of real estate, including hotels, office buildings, retail centers, residential subdivisions, industrial buildings and vacant land.
Prior to NKF, Mr. Gray was a member of Cushman & Wakefield’s Hospitality & Gaming practice group. During his 18-year tenure at C&W, he also served as an executive managing director and a member of the Valuation & Advisory group’s management team.
Prior to Cushman & Wakefield, Mr. Gray worked for four years at Atlantic Hospitality Advisors, first as a principal and later as a partner. He served as manager of the firm’s Boca Raton office and provided a full range of consulting and valuation services throughout Florida and Caribbean.
Previously, Mr. Gray worked for four years at Landauer Associates, as manager of the appraisal and consulting staff in the Fort Lauderdale office. He also served as co-practice leader of the Hospitality Valuation division, responsible for managing hospitality-related assignments throughout the U.S. and Caribbean, as well as coordinating the national practice.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Gray worked in the Hollywood, Florida, office of American Realty Consultants, first as an associate and later as a vice president. During his tenure there, he performed appraisal and consulting assignments on a variety of property types, focusing mostly on hotels, golf courses and large-scale residential and resort developments.
Mr. Gray began his real estate career at the Coral Gables office of Laventhol & Horwath before transferring to the Atlanta office, where he performed various consulting assignments for existing and proposed hotels. He was also an original staff member of the firm’s valuation department.

Mr. Gray earned a Bachelor of Science degree in hospitality management from Florida International University.
