Chris McCook joined Newmark’s Valuation & Advisory practice in 2017 and currently serves as a First Vice President in the company’s Phoenix office.
Mr. McCook primarily specializes in U.S. Department of Housing - Multifamily Accelerated Processing (MAP) with various HUD mortgage insurance programs, along with other agencies, including Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. His work on HUD insured loans includes appraisals and market studies. Aside from his multifamily appraisal experience, Mr. McCook also has significant experience appraising a wide variety of property types including office, industrial, retail, land, right-of way/title defect and special use properties.
Prior to joining Newmark, Mr. McCook worked as a Senior Valuation Specialist with Colliers International Valuation & Advisory Services. Prior to his time at Colliers, he worked for BDO, a public accounting firm, where he developed his skills as a review appraiser, while also becoming proficient in valuation for financial reporting. Prior to these endeavors, Mr. McCook began his career appraising commercial real estate with Davis Valuation Group in 2009.
Mr. McCook attended college at Arizona State University’s W.P. Carey School of Business, where he dual-majored in Finance and Accountancy. While in college, he received his real estate salesperson’s license and has negotiated a variety of commercial and residential real estate transactions, including sales and leases. In 2016, he graduated from Florida State University with his Master of Business Administration (MBA) with Real Estate Specialization, in conjunction with his path towards MAI designation.
