Christopher Cortese joined Newmark’s Connecticut/Westchester office as a director in 2012, focused on tenant representation, landlord representation and investment advisory. Mr. Cortese specializes in the representation of private equity firms, healthcare groups and corporate clients spanning the retail, medical, financial, personal services and technology industries.
Since arriving at Newmark, Mr. Cortese and his team have been awarded the exclusive agency assignment for the largest urban development project on the East Coast by Building & Land Technology. Based in Stamford, Connecticut, the portfolio entails the leasing of more than 3.0 million square feet of office space and 1.0 million square feet of retail space. Mr. Cortese has also been responsible for the leasing of properties owned by Normandy Partners, LNR Partners, Simone Development, Fareri & Associates, Polymer Management, Palm Ventures, Acadia Realty Trust and Aberdeen Properties, Inc.
In addition to his leasing accomplishments, Mr. Cortese was involved in numerous sales transactions ranging from income-producing investment properties and user purchases to the re-purposing of buildings and land. He recently sold several properties in central Greenwich, Connecticut, including a 15,081-square-foot mixed-use building anchored by Patriot Bank.
Prior to joining the team, Mr. Cortese was the vice president of NAI Global’s Fairfield County division, responsible for development and management of the Stamford, Connecticut, office.
