Andrew Thompson has more than 28 years of experience in all aspects of commercial real estate brokerage. Mr. Thompson has extensive experience in tenant and landlord representation, project leasing, investment property sales, retail leasing and asset management. Additionally, he has worked with large families and their advisers in reorganizing property portfolios for estate planning purposes. He has completed millions of square feet of lease transactions and over $200 million in property sales. Mr. Thompson’s clients have included large institutional companies such as General Electric Corp., Deutsche Asset Management and the McKesson Corporation. Mr. Thompson also represents national clients with facilities across the United States. Locally, Mr. Thompson represents technology companies, architects, advertising agencies and law firms, among others.
Mr. Thompson is also active in his community. He has twice been elected mayor of the town of Tiburon and served on the town council for 12 years. He was a founding member and chairman of the Marin County Economic Commission and served for four years on the Marin Academy Board of Trustees. Mr. Thompson also spent more than a year on the editorial board of the Marin Independent Journal and contributed to the editorial page. Finally, Mr. Thompson was the commencement speaker in 2004 for The Elliott School of International Affairs at The George Washington University.
Mr. Thompson graduated from The Elliott School of International Affairs at the George Washington University in Washington, DC, with a degree in interntional affairs and economics. He was also awarded a scholarship from the Organization of American States for a three-month postgraduate program at the Universidad de Belgrano in Buenos Aires, Argentina. While attending George Washington University, Mr. Thompson was on the swimming and water polo teams.
