Newmark is pleased to announce the addition of valuation expert Guy DiRienzo to its New York headquarters. Joining as Executive Vice President, DiRienzo will partner with Executive Vice President Douglas Larson, Senior Analyst Charles Looney and the six-person institutional office and retail team in the Valuation & Advisory (V&A) practice.
Mr. DiRienzo is a Bronx native with more than 35 years of experience in valuation and appraisal services in the New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, California and Colorado markets. After serving the past 23 years in Denver, managing and expanding Cushman & Wakefield’s valuation practice in Colorado, Mr. DiRienzo is returning to the city of his birth to partner with Newmark’s growing V&A team, focusing on delivering industry-leading New York City institutional valuation.
“Guy is a consummate professional and a true team player,” said John Busi, MAI, FRICS, President of Newmark Valuation & Advisory. “For nearly 30 years, I’ve known him to work diligently, even within brutally tight timeframes, putting in 15- to 20-hour days and weekends when necessary. We were both born and raised in the Bronx in the shadow of Yankee stadium. I’m thrilled to have him back in New York and on our team.”
Since joining Newmark in 2016, Busi has led Newmark’s effort to grow its V&A team through both acquisitions and the recruitment of top industry talent from across the spectrum of advisory specialties.
“Doug Larson and Charles Looney have built an iconic business at Newmark,” said Mr. Busi. “They and their team are some of the hardest-working and most experienced and knowledgeable professionals in this business. Combining them into a formidable super-team will allow this practice to ascend to the next level.”
“I began my career in the Bronx, valuating old warehouses, walk-up apartment buildings and retail storefronts before moving to downtown Manhattan to hone my craft as an appraiser,” said Mr. DiRienzo. “After three successful decades out west, my decision to move back to New York is a testament to the energy and momentum at Newmark. The Newmark team has fantastic people and I’m excited to be part of that. I’m re-energized, but most importantly, I’m home.”
The Newmark V&A practice is a leading industry innovator with an extensive team that now exceeds 440 professionals across 60 locations in North and South America.
