Newmark Grubb Knight Frank (NGKF) successfully represented Saddle Creek Logistics Services in the leasing of 6606 Pontius Road in Groveport, Ohio, serving as the firm’s second location in the state of Ohio. 6606 Pontius Road is a newly-completed, speculative 1,001,344-square-foot industrial facility located in Groveport Industrial Park. Saddle Creek signed the long-term lease at the state-of-the-art warehouse and distribution facility following a strategic analysis of local options.
NGKF’s Senior Managing Director Benton Benalcazar represented Saddle Creek in the search for its new location, along with Senior Vice President Ladson Montgomery of Newmark Grubb Phoenix Realty Group. Benalcazar and Montgomery assisted in Saddle Creek’s site selection analysis, ultimately securing space at 6606 Pontius Road. This space was chosen based on its location near major highways and large trailer parking areas, as well as Groveport’s business-friendly tax environment and good labor force.
Founded in 1966, Saddle Creek Logistics Services is a third-party logistics company providing warehousing, transportation, packaging and fulfillment services. The firm has 41 locations nationwide and selected NGKF to assist with finding its second facility in Ohio. Saddle Creek also operates a location in Sheffield Village.
Saddle Creek expects to take occupancy of its new Groveport location in February of 2016. Montgomery has represented Saddle Creek nationally since 1994 and has completed over 30 transactions for the firm, totaling more than six million square feet of industrial space, including one of the largest build-to-suit deals for the Chicago area this year on behalf of the firm.

The property features 36-foot ceilings, ample car and trailer parking, a cross-dock warehouse, 100 dock positions, four drive-in doors, an ESFR sprinkler system and a fifteen-year, 100 percent real estate tax abatement.
Benalcazar added that Saddle Creek views this transaction as a long-term investment that should bring many new employment opportunities to the Columbus area. “Hiring has already begun,” he said.
