Newmark Grubb Knight Frank has secured a new corporate headquarters for Energy Alloys at 3 Waterway Square, a Class A office building now under construction at The Woodlands Town Center in Houston. The rapidly expanding energy services company also plans a build-out of 10,800 square feet at its existing Houston Service Center.
Brandi McDonald and Stephanie Carr with Newmark Grubb Knight Frank arranged the lease for 37,000 square feet at the new 232,000-square-foot Waterway Square building in The Woodlands master-planned community.
Energy Alloys, a global provider of oilfield metals, services, and solutions to oil and gas manufacturers and service companies, is relocating its headquarters from 350 Glenborough Drive in Houston. Its Houston Service Center is located at 9450 West Wingfoot Road.
“We wanted to invest in the exceptional talent that has been a catalyst for our success,” said Dave Warren, president and CEO of Energy Alloys. “By relocating our headquarters to The Woodlands and expanding our Houston Service Center office, we are committed to the next phase of our growth strategy and to the valuable employees who make it possible.”
About 80 employees, including the executive team and a number of departments, will move to the new headquarters in The Woodlands during summer 2013. Set on 28,000 acres 27 miles north of Houston, The Woodlands is home to 1,755 companies and more than 100,000 residents. It is being developed by a division of the Howard Hughes Corp. which was represented by Colliers International in the Energy Alloys transaction.
“We chose The Woodlands because we desired a place where our employees would be proud to work, with endless amenities within walking distance,” Warren said. “We welcome the opportunity to be active members in The Woodlands and Montgomery County communities and contribute to the economic growth in the area.”
Energy Alloys has plans to add about 80 jobs in nearby Conroe, Texas, at its new technology services location. The company plans to relocate about 25 employees to the Houston Service Center, its flagship manufacturing and service center, when expansion is complete at the end of the year.
