Of this negative absorption, 222,382 square feet came from Class A buildings. This brings the year-to-date total to negative 434,013 square feet overall and to negative 361,992 square feet amongst Class A buildings. It’s hard to believe that just seven months ago, first-quarter 2020 experienced modestly positive absorption. Since then, cumulative negative absorption along the North I-680 Corridor office market has totaled 457,619 square feet. This is an all-time record for negative absorption in a six-month period.
