Minneapolis’ Newmark Knight Frank adds industry veteran to staff

Commercial real estate industry expert Michael Dwyer has joined the Minneapolis office of Newmark Knight Frank as associate director of management services.

Dwyer is responsible for NKF Minneapolis’ property management operations and staff.

A 35-year veteran of commercial real estate, Dwyer’s previous experience includes serving as Executive Vice President of Property Management at NorthMarq Real Estate Services/Cushman and Wakefield, where he led management and leasing teams in increasing asset value and investment returns across the portfolio by reducing expenses and increasing occupancy rates.

He was also Director for Sales & Marketing for NRG Energy, Inc., where he developed energy savings strategies for large customers, creating a multi-tiered marketing plan designed to reconnect and retain existing customers by providing a variety of value-added services.

Dwyer has also held leadership positions at Opus Property Services, LLC, Heitman Properties, Jones & Company and Cohen-Esrey Real Estate Services. His industry memberships and designations include Certified Property Manager, Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM), and member of the Government Affairs and Energy and Environment Committees, Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA). Dwyer earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of St. Thomas, where he also earned a Mini-MBA Program Certificate.
