Since coming under city control in 2016, airfreight volumes at Ontario International Airport (ONT) have increased exponentially. In the first nine months of this year, 521,705 tons of freight volume moved through the airport, an 18.1% increase over the same period in 2017. A survey by FreightWaves ranked ONT as the nation's busiest airport for outbound shipments in October, with 4.63% of the nation's outbound freight.
