Axinn, Veltrop & Harkrider LLP (Axinn), a leader in antitrust, intellectual property and high-stakes litigation, recently renewed its lease at 114 W. 47th Street, between Sixth (Avenue of the Americas) and Seventh avenues, in Midtown Manhattan. A ‘Tier 1’ ranked law firm in the 2014 “Best Law Firms” by U.S. News for Antitrust and Litigation/Antitrust, Axinn renewed for 36,000 square feet, taking slightly more space in The Durst Organization’s property.
Axinn was represented by Newmark Grubb Knight Frank (NGKF), a leading global commercial real estate services firm with a very prominent law firm advisory group. NGKF execs Gary Linder, Mark Weiss and Rob Eisenberg represented the tenant. Tom Bow and Rocco Romeo represented ownership in-house.
“Axinn is a strong tenant and the new lease provides options to accommodate future growth,” Mr. Linder said. “Though we looked at several alternatives, the decision to stay is a reflection of ownership’s commitment to the tenant and improvements it has made to the building.”
114 W. 47th Street was built by Durst in 1989. This year, a $7-million lobby renovation program featured dramatic enhancements including a significant lobby rotunda and high-end finishes. The building also includes recently installed green roofs.
