Gregory Leisch

Senior Managing Director, Market Research

Gregory Leisch is senior managing director of market research, based in Newmark Knight Frank's Washington, DC, office. Mr. Leisch, a 48-year veteran of the commercial real estate industry, works with Managing Director of National Research Alexander (Sandy) Paul to expand NKF's research platform with the goal of serving the company's diverse client base with the highest-quality data and analysis via publications and periodic conferences.

Until March 2015, Mr. Leisch served as CEO of Delta Associates, one of the most respected commercial real estate consulting service and information providers. Mr. Leisch founded this Washington-based company in 1980 and oversaw its expansion into a national enterprise serving public, private and institutional clients. As CEO of Delta Associates, Mr. Leisch worked with real estate developers and investors such as AEW, Hines Interests, LCOR, Lennar, Lincoln Property Company and Trammell Crow. He also provided advisory and consulting services to public sector clients that included Alexandria, Nashville, Rockville, Washington, and various federal agencies such as the Job Corps, General Services Administration and Central Intelligence Agency.

Prior to 1980, Mr. Leisch provided appraisal, real estate consulting and general business research services to clients of Gladstone Associates, a predecessor to Arthur Andersen Real Estate. As Senior Vice President, Mr. Leisch also served as director of professional personnel, director of computer center operations and director of appraisal services.

Mr. Leisch also served on the board of directors of Republic Property Trust, a public Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT), until its acquisition by Liberty Property Trust in 2007. Mr. Leisch was a member of the board's audit and compensation committees and headed its governance committee.

Mr. Leisch is often quoted in the popular and real estate press and has published on a variety of subjects, including, among other topics, development economics, depreciation, and environmental contamination.

A frequent speaker on economic and real estate issues, Mr. Leisch routinely addresses industry organizations such as the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM), International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), NAOIP, National Council of Real Estate Fiduciaries (NCREIF) and Urban Land Institute (ULI). Mr. Leisch has also lectured at major universities. His annual TrendLines and BenchMarks forecast conferences are attended by thousands of industry leaders each year.
