Newmark announces that the Institute for Educational Leadership (IEL) has extended and expanded its lease at 4301 Connecticut Avenue, NW in Washington, DC to 10,990 sqaure feet. IEL prepares leaders to eliminate systemic barriers to success in education and workforce development.
Executive Managing Director Brett Diamond and Associate Director Marianne Wilson of Newmark facilitated the lease on behalf of tenants.
“Newmark clearly understood the requirements of our organization. They developed a planning process that allowed us to remain in DC while expanding in our current building and redesigning the entire space,” said Johan E. Uvin, President, Institute for Educational Leadership.
“We executed a strategic planning and alignment initiative to identify IEL’s real estate goals, and conducted a market analysis of viable building options to find the real estate solution that met their needs,” said Diamond. “Renovating and expanding in their current space will promote collaboration and help them support and focus on their mission of serving families, schools and the community.”
The Van Ness-University of the District of Columbia Metro Station is immediately in front of 4301 Connecticut Avenue. The building offers retail including CVS, Giant Food Store and a hair salon and is near numerous dining options. The 223,362 square foot building has a beautiful plaza including landscaping, outdoor seating and a water feature.
