Newmark Knight Frank Appoints Mike Kirner as Director of PR & Communications, Northwest Region

Longtime Bay Area, CRE, tech and retail industry veteran Mike Kirner has joined Newmark Knight Frank as Director of PR & Communications for the firm's Northwest region to include 10 Northern California offices, as well as Seattle and Portland markets. In this newly created regional role, Kirner will oversee the firm's public relations, communications, social media, content and advertising.

According to Mark Bollozos, Newmark Knight Frank Executive Vice President of Northwest Operations: "Mike is a creative, multi-faceted, marketing, content & public relations expert. He will be tasked to promote our brand and broker teams by generating more buzz for our regional CRE wins and engaging the press and social platforms consistently."

Previously at Cushman & Wakefield, Kirner managed public relations, content creation, press relations and the firm's social media platforms. During his tenure, the NorCal PR, research and social teams worked in harmony to create online publicity, social sharing, creative content and regional thought leadership.

Kirner's background is also comprised of over a decade in the shopping center and retail industries. He previously held senior management roles as Regional and Senior Marketing & PR Director for several high fashion shopping destinations owned by The Macerich Company, Codding Investments and SIMON. The major assets Kirner worked for included The Village at Corte Madera, Valley Fair and Montgomery Village.

As a first generation German/American, he lived ten years near Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Kirner earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Advertising and a Minor in English Literature from the University of Florida. He was a member of the University of Florida Gator club soccer team and the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity soccer team in Gainesville. He enjoys writing long blog posts and playing short rounds of golf.
