Garth Hogan is the executive managing director of Global Healthcare Services with Newmark Knight Frank and along with his partner, Todd Perman in Atlanta, is responsible for overseeing all global healthcare real estate professionals within the company. He is responsible for establishing best practices in healthcare real estate for Newmark Knight Frank while leading the national and global healthcare team and, on a select basis, assisting clients in establishing comprehensive real estate strategies.
Mr. Hogan was the founder and president of Medical Realty Advisors (MRA). MRA was the leading medical real estate company in Southern California for the past 18 years.
His 25 years of experience in advising health care systems and hospitals in resolving complex real estate and compliance workouts is unmatched. He is one of the Nation's leading experts in Stark, Safe Harbor, Fraud and Abuse as it relates to real estate regulation. He has negotiated over 1,000 lease transactions with doctors, medical groups and hospitals, which combined, exceed $1.0 billion in value. Within the last 10 years, Mr. Hogan has represented national and regional health systems on over 1.0 million square feet of sale transactions, totaling over $1.0 billion in aggregate value. During the last five years, Mr. Hogan has been the exclusive agent for over 2.0 million square feet of some of the most prestigious on-campus medical office towers in Southern California.
As a team, Mr. Hogan and Mr. Perman have grown the Newmark Knight Frank Global Healthcare Services Group from five to 50 members within an 18 month period and increased healthcare related revenue from $1.0 million to $12.0 million during the same period. In addition, their team has assisted hospitals, health systems, developers and healthcare REITs, with compliance, capital and cost reduction initiatives, throughout the United States and the United Kingdom.
Mr. Hogan is a board member of the Pacific Symphony Orchestra and a former board member of the Wasatch Homeless Health Care Association, which operates seven free clinics in the intermountain region.
Mr. Hogan holds a bachelor's degree in Political Science and English from the University of Utah, Salt Lake City, Utah.
