Chris Houston is a managing director in the Newport Beach, California, office of Newmark. As a transaction advisor, Mr. Houston adds value to his clients’ real estate processes through his in-depth market analysis, financial analysis, customized cost reduction strategies and knowledge of the real estate process. His comprehensive market knowledge, combined with his understanding of tenant’s operational needs, complements his focus on developing and implementing a unique approach to the transaction advisory process.
Mr. Houston and the Orange County team provide corporate real estate outsourcing needs for clients with 1,440 locations totaling over 23 million square feet and representing $360 million in real estate spending.
Prior to joining Newmark, Mr. Houston worked at DTZ as a transaction advisor. He also served as an analyst with one of the top five producing teams at CB Richard Ellis, where he focused nationally on institutional investment properties, assisting in the disposition of over $1 billion in real estate.

- National – Mr. Houston provided Valassis, Inc. with strategic support for 50 properties totaling over 3 million square feet throughout the United States. His responsibilities included coordinating and implementing a number of services such as transaction advisory, site selection, financial consulting, economic incentives, workplace integration, data management, project management and facilities management.
- Southern California – Over the past 10 years, Mr. Houston and his partners have provided conflict-free representation to some of the region’s most recognized occupants including: Toshiba America Business Solutions (130,000 SF), Conifer Health Solutions (150,000 SF), Assurant (127,000 SF), Dignity Health (100,000 SF), Lennar (90,000 SF), Avanir Pharmaceuticals (90,000 SF), Telogis (55,000 SF), CU Direct Lending (55,000 SF) and Spireon (50,000 SF).

Mr. Houston holds a bachelor’s degree in business economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
