The Mekkatti Group, a manufacturer of packaging products for the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries, has leased a 56,745-square-foot industrial building in Port Washington.

The company will be relocating to 55 Harbor Park Drive from a smaller facility in Mineola. Mekkatti also operates a manufacturing plant in Windsor, N.J.

Founded in 2009, the company specializes in the design and printing of package and product information formats for pharmaceuticals. It also designs and prints packaging and leaflets for cosmetics and other product types.

As part of its expansion, Mekkatti expects to add about 50 employees to its existing Long Island roster of 26 within the next two years.

BEB Capital purchased the building at 55 Harbor Park Drive for $9.35 million in Sept. 2018. The building is on 3 acres and has 26-foot-high ceilings and five loading docks.

David Rotter of Metro Realty Services represented the tenant, while Dan Oliver and Dan Marcus of Newmark Knight Frank represented landlord BEB Capital in the lease transaction.
