A fast-growing food distributor is expanding again with its $4.75 million purchase of a Bellport industrial building.

New Tiger International, which processes, imports, and distributes several varieties of dried, frozen, fresh, and canned mushrooms, along with some tofu products, bought the 33,500-square-foot industrial building on 4.9 acres at 50 Sawgrass Drive. The Bellport expansion was assisted with economic incentives from the Brookhaven Industrial Development Agency.

The Bellport acquisition is the company’s second recent property purchase. In Jan. 2018, the firm, which also operates under the name Mushroom House, bought a 19,620-square-foot industrial building in Westbury for $3 million.

The Bellport property had been owned by TA Morris Sons, another food service company.

Dan Gazzola and Chuck Tabone of Newmark Knight Frank represented the buyer, while Frank Frizalone, Nick Gallipoli and Tom DeLuca of Cushman & Wakefield represented the seller in the Bellport sale.
