Michael Zucchero PE, CFM, LEED GA

Executive Managing Director, Global FM Lead

Michael Zucchero, PE, CFM, LEED GA, joined Newmark Knight Frank in 2019 and currently serves as executive managing director and global facilities management lead for Global Corporate Services. In this role, Mr. Zucchero leads NKF's facilities management functional business line by supporting operational and platform service delivery while coordinating with client solutions to align NKF's to client business objectives. Mr. Zucchero also oversees all facilities management business operations for client portfolios globally.

Prior to Newmark Knight Frank, Mr. Zucchero worked in enterprise facilities management for CBRE's Northeast Division. He supported more than 30 facilities management client accounts and led the facility management platform's functional areas and experts on engineering, health and safety, strategic sourcing, capital planning and energy services, among other subjects, to drive best practices and processes. Global clients included a number of prominent companies from the healthcare, life sciences, financial services and technology sectors, including American Express, Cigna Health, Cisco, Credit Suisse, Fidelity Insurance, Goldman Sachs, The Hartford, Iron Mountain, Johnson & Johnson, JP Morgan Chase, Partners Health, Pfizer, State Street Bank, Takeda Pharmaceuticals and Travelers Insurance.

Previously, Mr. Zucchero was a vice president at Jones Lang LaSalle, where he provided strategic leadership and technical consultation and oversight, business operations guidance and program management practice in support of Corporate Solutions' Integrated Facilities Management, Operations and Engineering services for multiple global clients in the corporate, financial services and healthcare industries. During his tenure at JLL, Mr. Zucchero was a recognized and sought-after expert in integrated facilities management.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Zucchero was an executive director for Hawaii region facilities at Kaiser Permanente, responsible for providing strategic leadership and management through technical, process and policy guidance and oversight. He also provided administrative support for facilities planning, design, clinical technology, construction, facilities management and maintenance, and real estate acquisition. Mr. Zucchero led a multi-disciplined organization of project managers, maintenance engineers, biomedical equipment planners and maintenance technicians, and finance and real estate managers in the delivery of all facilities management services, real estate acquisition and clinical technology support for the Hawaii region.

Mr. Zucchero began his private-sector career after retiring from the United States Navy in 2009 at the rank of commander. As a member of the Civil Engineer Corps, he held a variety of leadership and operational roles at U.S. Navy Installations worldwide. In his final career assignment, as public works officer, Naval Station Pearl Harbor, Mr. Zucchero led a 2,500-person (combined military, civilian and contractor, union and non-union) team in the delivery of facility planning, programming, design, construction, maintenance and operation services for a $9.6 billion plant value portfolio in a working capital fund/fee-based business model. In completing this assignment, he managed a $100 million-plus annual budget for facilities management and services, transportation support and environmental management and led a $200 million capital construction program.

Education
Mr. Zucchero earned a Master of Science degree in environmental engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Master of Engineering Management degree from the George Washington University. Previously, he graduated cum laude from the Ohio State University, where he earned a bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
