Thomas Bogle

Executive Managing Director

A member of the three-person GCS leadership team, Thomas Bogle is global head of client solutions, responsible for marketing, creative solutions and business development for the firm's Global Corporate Services division. Mr. Bogle joined Newmark Knight Frank in January 2017 as an executive managing director in the firm's Atlanta office. For more than 30 years, Mr. Bogle has been an innovator and leader in the corporate real estate outsourcing industry. He has successfully transitioned more than 150 million square feet of space from insourced to outsourced environments, including the first successful outsourcing of facilities from a U.S.-based firm for its U.K. portfolio in 1993.

Previously, Mr. Bogle held senior executive positions at CBRE, JLL and Savills Studley and was a partner in EY's real estate advisory practice, where he led the Corporate Services Advisory team. Throughout his career, Mr. Bogle has managed global facilities operations for 180 million square feet and advised more than $2 billion in real estate transactions across major cities including Boston, New York and Atlanta. He has published numerous industry articles and spoken at both national and international real estate events. He has also managed thousands of people and mentored men and women who have become industry leaders at many major commercial real estate firms. His clients have included dozens of Fortune 100 firms, such as Verizon, Regions Bank, McGraw Hill, Bristol Meyers, Google, Morgan Stanley, Bank of America and Los Alamos Nuclear Laboratories.

Professional Achievements
An active industry leader, Mr. Bogle's career highlights includes:

  • In early 1990s, leased more than 500,000 square feet of office and retail space in the downtown Boston market while working for Spaulding & Slye and Leggat McCall Properties.
  • Working in Boston for Compass Management & Leasing (later acquired by JLL), led the pursuit and transition of more than 7 million square feet of office and R&D space for Digital Equipment and provided facilities management and engineering services across multiple properties throughout New England and the U.K., successfully completing the first international outsourcing of facilities for a U.S.-based corporation.
  • Based in Atlanta with Koll Corporate Services (later acquired by CBRE), led the solution development and transition of more than 6 million square feet of facilities and project management in the Southeast for Regions Bank, Bell South (Now AT&T), NationsBank (now Bank of America) and other large corporate users, the majority of which remain CBRE clients, and generated well more than $200 million in revenue.
  • Appointed adjunct professor at Columbia University's Master of Science of Real Estate Development Program; named Number One Professor by students.
  • Led Ernst & Young's New York-based corporate real estate practice, focusing primarily on assisting clients in identifying cost-reduction opportunities in their portfolios and outsourcing to third-party providers for clients such as McGraw-Hill, Thomson (now Thomson Reuters), Verizon and Los Alamos Nuclear Laboratory. Appointed partner at E&Y in 2003.
  • Created the Real Estate Outsourcing Institute and published the first definitive survey on the results of real estate outsourcing, "Corporate Real Estate Outsourcing: 10 Years Later," in conjunction with CoreNet and Columbia University.
  • Hired by CBRE as executive managing director, Global Corporate Services, responsible for global account management (140 corporate accounts) and global facilities management (more than 180 million square feet). Also developed strategic solutions for large corporate accounts. As one of Global Corporate Services' four global leaders, increased profits 30% each year in successive years.
  • Led innovation team at CBRE that developed both MarketStrike and PIQ, two of CBRE's most innovative technology-based client service solutions.
  • Joined JLL as regional director and principal responsible for developing global solutions for large corporate clients. Also chaired the global committee for market-based technology tool development and participated on the global committee reviewing strategic acquisitions that resulted in the purchase of Staubach Real Estate Services, Inc.
  • Hired by Studley, Inc. in 2009 to develop a corporate solutions platform including project management, strategic consulting, transaction management and portfolio lease administration. Clients included Accenture, Canon USA, Computer Associates, FedEx, Morgan Stanley, Pitney Bowes, Time Warner, Inc. and Verisk Analytics, among numerous other firms.
  • In 2013, published "Corporate Real Estate Outsourcing: 20 Years Later" in The Leader, CoreNet's global publication.

Academic Affiliations
Mr. Bogle earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Florida. He also attended Harvard Graduate School of Design.

Mr. Bogle was appointed an adjunct professor by Columbia University and taught in its graduate Real Estate Development program while a resident of New York City.
