Giovanni D'Agostino

President, Mexico Regional Managing Director Latin America

Giovanni D'Agostino is the president and founding partner of Newmark Grubb Mexico City (formerly Alles Group Mexico City). Mr. D'Agostino focuses on planning and strategy; financial and administrative control; supervision and administration of the group's associates; and administration of corporate accounts. He possesses superior analytical and negotiating skills and a comprehensive understanding of the nuances of Mexico City's office and retail leasing market.

SIGNIFICANT TRANSACTIONS:

  • Representing more than 35,000 square meters in Chicago and New York City for Cinemex, the sixth-largest movie theater chain in the world
  • Closed more than 30,000 square meters for Energy Fitness (24 Hour Fitness) in locations throughout Mexico; currently working on an additional 20,000 square meters
  • Currently representing an 8,000-square-meter relocation for AON's Mexico City headquarters
  • Negotiated a 7,500-square-meter lease at Punta Santa Fe for Havas Media Group in Mexico City; currently working on 3,000 additional square meters at a different location
  • Renegotiated a 7,000-square-meter lease for Sura, the biggest pension fund in Mexico, including a 5,000-square-meter relocation of office and retail space
  • Closed three different requirements at the same time for Citizen Mexico: a 2,000-square-meter office lease; a 4,000-square-meter industrial lease; and its first retail space in Mexico City for sales and exhibition
  • Closed a 2,600-square-meter office lease at the best rental rate in the area for Livingston International
  • Negotiated a 2,000-square-meter lease for Guy Carpenter, a Marsh & McLennan company, in Mexico City
  • Closed a 1,800-square-meter office lease for Goldman Sachs in Mexico City

Mr. D´Agostino has nearly two decades of experience with a wide range of domestic and international corporations in the Mexico City market, including: Alestra (AT&T), Bausch & Lomb, Bombardier, Brockman y Schuh Group/William Mercer/Marsh & McLennan, Burson-Marsteller México, Chevron, DuPont, Embassy of Thailand, Deloitte, Energy Fitness (NEV), Fiskars, Fortum, GemPlus International, General DataComm, Goldman Sachs, Harman, Livingston International, Marriott Hotels International, McDonald's México, Morgan Stanley, Oracle de México,  Safra National Bank of New York, Travelport, Warner Bros., World Bank and York International, among others.

Mr. D'Agostino is a former president of the ICEI committee, which gathers the top 10 representatives of the real estate brokerage community to network and interact professionally with the main players in the real estate industry, including the Mexican government and other important real estate authorities. He is also a member of Oncor's Manager Advisory Committee, and has been reelected four years in a row to advise on the standardization and dissemination of real estate relationships of U.S. and European practices in Mexico.

Mr. D´Agostino holds degrees from some of Mexico City's most prestigious universities, including a law degree from Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico; a finance degree from Universidad Iberoamericana; and a real estate post-graduate degree from Instituto Tecnológico Autonomo de Mexico. He has both Mexican and Italian citizenship.
